 KindePay is our way of taking action to create a kinder world, one in which kindness is valued and encouraged.

OUR BELIEFS

We believe that when mindfulness and meditation are combined with kindness and action, it becomes a more complete practice for relieving stress, anxiety, and building resilience and connection. To give from a place of abundance brings immense joy, connection, meaning, and a sense of purpose. To access this abundance we need to start acting as though kindness is valuable in a tangible way. Accepting kindness as currency is our form of activism.

Be kind to others:

- Give someone a compliment
- Let someone go in front of you in a queue
- Think about all the things your parents or friends do for you and tell them that you notice and are grateful

Be kind to the planet:

- Plant a tree (see our blog section for a how-to guide!)
- Reduce your use of plastics
- Turn the tap off when you are brushing your teeth (every day for the rest of your life)

Be kind to yourself:

- Rest if you are tired!
- Write down the things you most like about yourself
- When you look in the mirror, smile at you :)

Be kind to animals:

- Put out a bird feeder in your back garden
- Volunteer at your local animal shelter
- Try meat-free for a while or reduce the meat you eat for a week

FAQ

Where did this idea come from?

There is a growing movement that recognises that capital is not just financial. There are multiple forms of capital but when we view capital through the singular lens of financial wealth, we miss the richness that is all around us - social capital, nature capital, spiritual capital, time capital, experience capital. At Peacebeam, we believe in kindness and the capital it creates in our world - joy, connection, empathy, hope, possibility, and a future we want to imagine. We have been influenced by some of the visionary thinkers in this field and then tried to imagine what kindness as capital would look like in practical terms - thanks for helping us to contemplate that question.
